Argan oil is pressed from the kernels of the argan tree, which grows in south-west Morocco. It is rich in fatty acids and vitamin E and has been used in Moroccan beauty routines for generations.
Six simple ways to use it
- 1
Face: warm 2–3 drops between your fingertips and press onto clean skin in the evening.
- 2
Body: add a few drops to your body lotion, or apply on damp skin straight after the shower.
- 3
Hair ends: smooth 1–2 drops over the ends of dry hair to tame frizz and add shine.
- 4
Pre-wash hair mask: massage into the lengths, leave for 30 minutes, then shampoo as usual.
- 5
Nails and cuticles: rub a drop into each nail before bed.
- 6
After the hammam: the final step of the ritual, on freshly exfoliated skin.
A little goes a long way
Start with fewer drops than you think you need: a 30ml bottle lasts a long time when used daily on the face. Store it away from direct sunlight.
